Embark on a sun-bound journey with Sunstruck Dreams, our award-winning interactive comic app. Built with Augmented Reality, IgniteX combines storytelling and science to educate and inspire the next generation of explorers. Join the mission to the Sun, co-pilot the Parker Solar Probe, and discover the solar journey like never before!
In 2022, our team proudly won the NASA Space Apps Challenge in Sydney and advanced to the global finalists. Competing among some of the brightest minds, we developed an innovative augmented reality comic book app, "IgniteX," designed to inspire young learners through an interactive space journey. Our project focused on blending storytelling with immersive AR experiences to explore scientific concepts like the Parker Solar Probe's mission to the Sun. This win demonstrated our commitment to making science education fun, engaging, and accessible to all.
JIX demonstrated the power of innovation under pressure by designing and building a digital comic app with AR and gamified features in just half a day, proving what’s possible in a short time.
Get ready to embark on a thrilling journey with X-boi, your co-pilot, as you fly alongside the Parker Solar Probe on its daring mission to the Sun. In this exciting video, X-boi guides you through the cosmos, bringing you closer to the Sun than ever before. With the push of a button—"Let’s Fly"—join the fastest human-made object in history as it navigates extreme heat and speed. Adventure awaits!
The Parker Solar Probe is the fastest human-made object, reaching speeds up to 430,000 mph—enough to travel from Auckland to London in less than a minute. It was designed to withstand temperatures of 1.8 million degrees Fahrenheit using a Thermal Protection System made of carbon-composite shielding.
Watch as the probe is assembled with high-gain antennas, solar array wings, and a solar array cooling system to protect its delicate instruments while enduring the Sun's intense heat and radiation.
At JIX, we are passionate about creating joyful and immersive experiences by fusing technology and creativity. Our team, consisting of space enthusiast and creative lead Nani Parlapalli, interactive developer Rodrigo Dias Takase, strategic planner and writer Seku Skandan, and meticulous project coordinator Devi Alagappan, collaborated on this NASA Space Apps Challenge and won Global First Winner.
This achievement reflects our dedication to innovation and teamwork, showcasing how our diverse skills come together to tackle complex challenges. We are excited to continue exploring new frontiers in technology and storytelling, delivering captivating experiences that inspire and engage audiences around the world.
